About me

Around 20 years ago my father bought be a Haminex underwater camera for my birthday. Ever since then I have been hooked on photography. I purchased my first SLR camera in the early 90's but sadly had to sell it to fund moving to the UK for 3 years. I then had to make do with a point-and-shoot film camera and then a regular digital camera from there on due to the expense of dSLR cameras when they first hit the market. I did not re-enter the world of SLR cameras until May of 2006 which is when I bought my first dSLR and became more serious about photography. I am now completely obsessed with photography. My camera gear comes with me wherever I go so I never miss a photo opportunity.

My specialties are landscape, nature and insect photography but I also like to branch out into other areas and I enjoy experimentation. A large majority of my photos are coastal landscapes which is a reflection of where I live. Newcastle is on the east coast of Australia and is about a 2 hour drive north of Sydney. It has a reputation of being an industrial city but people are now discovering the natural wonders of this area - from our beautiful beaches to the rolling hills of the Hunter Valley. I have also done a bit of travelling around Australia and plan to do much more . So please check back often as I will be updating the galleries regularly.

I hope you enjoy my images and thank you for visiting my site!

Cheers,
Mark
